After a totally full and intense packed day, Total Beauty treated our Beauty Blog network members only to a private cocktail get together at the Ayres Hotel overlooking the italian style courtyard and pool. Beautiful.  Here, just take a peek at their hotel rooms.

Can I move in?

Then off to disco and dancing, where on the way to my car  I managed to trip on my heel and seriously pull my calf.  Sigh. No dancing for me.

Then after getting to sleep in a bit, off to

Sunday, Day Three.

Emrah discussed their Ad Network and their plans to bring more content, exclusives and events to the total beauty community. Then we got a super fast paced seminar how to on how to develop your own PR.  Great tips and tricks on how to word your pr and brand yourself and your blog.

Also the coolest part of the whole event was our Town Meeting afterwards. Members that were still there and didn’t have planes to catch were able to sit with the Total Beauty team and discuss ways to make the next Beauty Blog Summit even better. Pros and Cons, what worked and what we wanted to see were all discusses and tossed back and forth in a great discussion.  A lot of great ideas was brought up so I can only foresee even greater things happening….

After the seminar was over, I heard that Teri  of Splendicity and Delphine of SteepingBeauty had super late red eye flights that night, so I offered to show them Elke’s view of Los Angeles.

And off we went. After a drive into Los Angeles on the not even packed 405 freeway, we drove by CBS studios to eat at the vintage and famous Canter’s Deli. Known for their total 1940’s decor (still the same) and bitchy old waitresses in the same white collared uniforms with white apron looks, well, let’s just say the waitresses are now nice and finally got modernized a bit. All in Canter’s tshirts and looking all happy.

Then off to sight-see. A whirlwind tour of Hollywood and Highland, Kodak Theatre, and the Roosevelt Hotel. Then off to cruise down Sunset Strip, (major black Bently spotted with super dark tinted windows, we could only dream who was the driver), to Rodeo Drive to peek at the mansions and all the designer stores, to Wilshire to see Saks, Barney’s and so many others. Then down Wilshire to the Santa Monica Pier…. which winded down with a stop at Starbucks and we were back at the hotel.  Yep, Elke’s Day of Fun I call it.  A quick and mini LA version of where I am part of the year…

Truly that was the most fun part of my weekend! :)  I hope the girls had as much fun as I did!

Also wanted to say a quick hello to the other bloggers I was able to meet:

Agostina @ makeup2beauty

Jennifer & Christine @ beauty in real life

Denice @ Beauty Chat Blog

Phyllis Li @ Makeup For Life

Cailin @ The Beauty Bunny

Kriten @ sugarshock

200805191205So on a closing note, wonderful news that Total Beauty will be doing a New York event in November so plan your calendar!  You won’t want to miss this.

I also want to thank Total Beauty for the honor of winning their “Innovator of the Year” Award.

Though it wasn’t exactly stated for what, I can only hope it’s for The Beauty Blog Network.  Because really, it’s the achievement that I’m the most proud of, only because of the most wonderful members that we have. As we continue to grow and get only bigger and better, as they say, you’re only as good as the company you keep. Let’s just say, I got really lucky.

:)
