Welcome our newest member, Lipstick & Luxury! I just had to ask her a few Q & A’s and wanted to share with you. Be sure to visit her blog and say hello! elke

I know that you write for your beauty blog, but what is your real day

job? I work in Human Resources as an Executive Recruiter in Publishing, Media and Marketing.

2. What made you start your blog in the first place? How did you get

started? I had a personal blog that detailed my life as a lesbian in NYC but I chose not to continue the blog because I was tired of having my entire life on the internet. So the next obvious choice for me was a beauty blog because I’m a bit of a product junkie.

3. What makes your blog different than all the other beauty blogs out

there? What’s your niche? My blog tends to focus on the luxury side of beauty so I rarely cover drugstore brands. However I am planning a total blog redesign and niche so some changes are in the works.

4. What is your current favorite beauty product that you found because of

your blog? I would say SK-II essence, it has brightened and balanced my skin like no other product.

5. What is your favorite post on your blog that you’re the most proud of? My post titles “Internal Beauty” which discusses the importance of drinking water. I believe that taking care of your body is your most important beauty ritual that you can have.

6. What is the coolest thing that has happened to you because of your blog? Going backstage at New York Fashion Week for the Betsey Johnson show, it was the highlight of Fashion Week for me.

7. What is your favorite part about being a beauty blogger? Meeting other people that share my same interests.

8. What is your current favorite beauty trend of the moment? I’m not really a trend type of gal, I just wear what I love.

9. When you’re not blogging, what do you like to do for fun? I have two amazing boys so my wife and I try to spend as much time with them as possible. Other than that I love to cook, travel and visit museums.

10. What future plans do you have for your beauty blog? What do you see doing with it in the future? (i.e. new theme design, new features, adding…) So much! I have the Thesis theme installed and I need to redesign it. I’d also like to have a new logo, a new header and a wigitized foot.
