Did a slightly smokey neutral look for the office today with the Paul & Joe Smoke and Mirrors #1 palette (from the Holiday 2009 collection).

I used the light lilac shade on the browbone area, the light brown in the crease and the greyish black along the upper lashline and blended lightly into the outer corners, then finished with Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Volume On mascara.

I believe in serums and am amazed at how the skin benefits from them! A serum is simply a highly concentrated treatment of active ingredients used to penetrate and treat various skin conditions such as dehydration, stress, environmental damage, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation issues or loss of elasticity.

They're usually made up of vitamins, lipids or antioxidants and are usually the consistency of a thin liquid. To allow for maximum penetration into the skin, they're formulated with smaller molecules which make them extremely effective. They can be used both day and night and are usually applied under a moisturizer, but can be used alone. During a facial an esthetician might apply a serum under your mask or before the application of your moisturizer, depending on your specific skincare needs.

So, do you need to use a serum? Well, I would suggest following a skincare regimen first. Once you're consistent with your regimen, really begin to pay attention to your skin and make note- for example- of dehydrated areas, loss of elasticity and dullness. If your skincare regimen doesn't correct these issues, then I'd highly suggest investing in a serum!

Green is my favorite color and one of my favorite eyeshadow colors, so here is a green springy look just in time for St. Patrick's Day.



I used my favorite MAC green and olive eyeshadows in Humid, Flourishing, and Greensmoke. Humid is one of my favorite MAC shadows of all time. It really makes green eye looks richer and gives depth to the whole look.



I also used the wonderful Grand Entrance dark hunter green eyeshadow from the MAC Holiday 2008 palette. I love this green, a deeper green but different in shade from Humid.



I used Manila Paper to highlight. It's from the Colour 4 quad of the Spring Colour Forecast collection. This shadow is quickly becoming one of my favorite highlighters.



I used MAC Fab-racadabra Bronze Face Kit from the Magic Mirth and Mischief Holiday 2009 collection. I can't get over how wonderful these three products work in tandem with each other. Sunbasque is a beautiful blush as it is, but combined with Golden bronzing powder and Buffed and Polished iridescent shimmer, it's perfection on my skintone.



I used MAC Brave New Bronze lipstick.



I used MAC dazzleglass in Sublime Shine over the lipstick.



I did use a pretty green mineral eyeshadow from Earthen Glow Minerals called Kauai Kiwi, a nice lime (or, okay, kiwi) color that is vibrant and contrasts beautifully with the dark MAC shadows.

Here's a step by step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay Sin primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Mossscape paint pot on lid.


Using a slightly damp stiff shader brush like the 239 (use Charged Water to dampen the brush), apply Earthen Glow mineral eyeshadow in Kauai Kiwi eyeshadow on the lid.


Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Greensmoke on the crease.



Blend using the 224.



Using the same Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Flourishing and blend using the 224.


Using the same brush, apply Humid on the crease.


Add a little Grand Entrance into the outer V and blend using the 224.


Blend and soften harsh lines using the 224 brush.



Using the 227 brush, apply Manila Paper on the browbone. Apply L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner (felt tip) on upper lashline.


Using Sonia Kashuk mini-detail brush, apply Kauai Kiwi on inner lower lashline and Grand Entrance on outer lower lashline. Rim eyes using Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero. Apply Red Cherry falsies #66. Apply mascara.

Here's a simple EOTD done with the Body Shop Shimmer Cubes #6. Like the other Shimmer Cubes, this set is richly pigmented and applies very smoothly. The shine is quite intense but what's impressive about the Shimmer Cubes is that I experienced zero fall-out issues.

I used Marshmallow (beige) over the browbone area, Honeycomb (golden bronze) at the inner corners, Chocolate Chip from the upper lashline to the crease, and Dark Chocolate to line the upper and lower lashline. I also used K-Palette Real Lasting Volume mascara.

I was invited to an Anna Sui party for beauty bloggers but was unable to attend due to another commitment, but the generous PR folks at Anna Sui was kind enough to send me the gift bag nevertheless. It contained several of Anna Sui's latest products, which I wasted no time in trying out :-)

Lip Rouge G #302 is part of the newly revamped line of lipsticks. When I first saw the pics of the new lipstick case design online, I wasn't too impressed but these turned out to be quite cute in person, especially with the heart-shaped top.


The "G" shades are supposed to be extremely glossy and moisturising. And indeed I found #302 to be quite glossy and emollient. It glides on very smoothly and applies sheer, giving my lips just the barest hint of pink.


Protective Powder Foundation L is the new powder foundation that has just been launched at Anna Sui counters in Singapore for spring/summer 2010. I received this in shade B02, which looked like it might be a tad yellow for my skintone, but when applied, I was surprised by how natural it looked without any yellow tones. The level of coverage was a tad sheer and it did not completely cover up the redness in my cheeks but overall, my skin looked more even-toned and polished. I had to blot my T-zone every hour or two but this is normal for me. The foundation does have a light rose scent which is not noticeable after application.

The Oil Blotting Case feels nicely sturdy and well made. There are other brands that make cheaper knock-offs but nothing beats the real original in terms of quality.

I like how the design pattern extends to even the underside of the lid.

The oil blotting sheets are a delicate lavender shade, almost too pretty to use!

Mini Rouge in #700 has Anna Sui's signature rose design motif and distinct rose scent. This nifty little compact also includes a mirror under the lid for applications on the go.


Nail Color N in #205 (purple with holographic glitter) and #902 (chartreuse).
